NEI is focused on supporting communities in meeting their energy goals through research, education, and collaboration. Our work is focused on industry driven applied research, with community partnerships that provide unique solutions developed for the North by the North.

Founded in Late 2016, Northern Energy Innovation (NEI) supports and develops new energy solutions for Northern Canadian communities. Our team has the expertise to understand and overcome the challenges faced in the North, and has worked closely with Communities, First Nations, Utilities, and Government Agencies on various energy related projects across the North. As a research program at Yukon University, we strive to ensure our work is transparent, unbiased and that results are available and accessible to all.
